Green Producing

Green Producing is an important focus area within our sustainability efforts. In collaboration with expert consultants, we developed our green producing criteria, that guide decision-making across key stages of the production process, including resource use, mobility, energy, and materials. These internal guidelines have been applied to our productions since 2022 and support resource-efficient decision-making, as well as the measurement and calculation of production-related greenhouse gas emissions.

From emissions to mobility, each Terra Mater production is overseen by a trained green consultant or other qualified individual, with the TMS sustainability team on hand to offer advice and support. The green consultant’s role is to inform, incentivize, and involve the entire team to think about reduction measures together.

Our comprehensive guidelines consider elements such as energy sources, use of resources, travel, catering, and waste production. Our video offers a taste of how we do it, and more details can be found under our Green Guidelines.

More Information
Amidst a rocky mountain landscape, a film crew is capturing a climber in a blue jacket. A sign proudly displays Österreichisches Umweltzeichen and highlights their commitment to green producing, as snow-capped peaks rise majestically in the background.

Other important aspects of green producing include an emissions assessment, continuous evaluation and data collection, and a green report at the end of the production period, which is subject to approval by Terra Mater Studios and/or an external consultant. When choosing partners to work with, we seek to collaborate with those who are also prioritizing scientifically evaluated emission reductions.

Thanks to our green producing criteria, several Terra Mater productions have attained sustainable certification with the Austrian Ecolabel UZ76 / Österreichisches Umweltzeichen. These include “Collider Diaries”, “Hippo King”, “Viennese Water”, “On the Precipice – The Alps” and “Wild Vienna“.
