Beyond Mozart’s famous melodies and the internationally beloved Sound of Music locations lies a wilder Salzburg — where nature performs its own symphony.
The famous city of Salzburg: The great Mozart’s birthplace, the location of the cult film “Sound of Music” and a cultural magnet that draws tens of thousands of classical music lovers from all over the world to its annual music festival. If you listen closely, classical music is not all you can hear in the pittoresque town on the banks of the river Salzach.
Right in the city centre, chamois are whistling just a few hundred meters above the busy allies, beavers are trying to resculpt the park of Schloss Leopoldskron and tiny chirping kestrels nest in the embrasures of Hohensalzburg Fortress. In Salzburg animals lurks around every corner: Some of them hiding in plain sight, others tucked away in secret nooks.
“Wild Salzburg” shows the city’s diverse wildlife, while at the same time paying tribute to the animals’ unique, culturally rich backyard.
