Synopsis

In the forests of Borneo, a young elephant takes her first uncertain steps into a world that is rapidly changing around her.
Born into one of the smallest and rarest elephant populations on Earth, the little elephant must learn fast. Guided by her mother and protected by the moving shield of her family, she faces powerful rivers, rising floods, aggressive bulls, crocodile-filled crossings and a landscape increasingly shaped by people.

The forests that once stretched endlessly across northeast Borneo are now broken into fragments divided by plantations, roads and settlements. To survive, the herd must navigate a dangerous maze of shrinking forest corridors and human pressure, where one wrong step can mean separation, conflict or worse.

Told intimately through the calf’s eyes, The Littlest Elephant is a cinematic coming-of-age adventure filled with humour, jeopardy, tenderness and awe. From playful riverbank moments to dramatic flood crossings and tense human encounters, the film reveals the hidden lives of Bornean elephants like never before.

This is the story of growing up in a world that demands constant adaptation and the fight to keep a family, and a species, moving forward.
