An untouched wilderness at the edge of the world.
Tasmania’s Southwest Wilderness is a vast, remote and untouched region at the edge of the world, where human footprints are still the exception. Cut off by snow-capped mountains, trees tower to three hundred feet, green lights dance in the sky, and caves glow dazzling blue. Fur seals and shy albatross breed along the storm-battered coast, a reminder that Antarctica is the next stop south. Thought to be the thylacine’s last stronghold, tiger quolls and Tasmanian devils now compete for the top spot.
