Synopsis

Over the course of a decade, a vast network of trail cameras captures the hidden lives of mountain lions in the wild. At the heart of the story are Willow and her daughter Sula, whose lives unfold through rare footage, genetic data and years of observation.

The cameras reveal hunts, encounters with other animals and remarkable behaviour that has rarely, if ever, been documented among wild, uncollared mountain lions. Combined with satellite imagery and aerial views, these recordings piece together an unusually detailed portrait of one mountain lion family and the landscape they inhabit.

“Willow – Diary of a Mountain Lion” is an intimate story of survival, family bonds and life beyond human sight.
