More Information

Shot over ten years in a remote corner of Africa, the story follows a unique lion born with heterochromia—one yellow eye and one blue—marking him as the child of a forbidden union between the Yellow-Eyed and Blue-Eyed prides. You can watch the making of here.

Beyond its breathtaking imagery, The Bastard King is a clarion call for unity and change, echoing themes of environmental urgency and social disharmony. Through hybrid storytelling, the film reminds us that time is running out—not just for the king of beasts, but for us all.
